Open Whisper Systems is the maker of Signal, free and open-source software designed to allow you to make end-to-end encrypted phone calls and text messages from your regular mobile phone—whether you own an iPhone or Android device. 

Cryptographer Moxie Marlinspike is the founder and core contributor to the Open Whisper Systems project. His research has focused primarily on techniques for intercepting communication, as well as methods for strengthening communication infrastructure against interception. Formerly the head of the security team at Twitter, he currently dedicates most of his time to working on privacy enhancing technology projects.
