Giulio is the lead security researcher at the Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF). He initiated and continues to improve the SecureDrop Protocol, which underpins the next generation of end-to-end encrypted SecureDrop, and the WEBCAT project, which aims to bring web-code integrity and transparency to browsers. With a background in systems security and science and technology studies, he combines deep technical expertise with digital-rights advocacy, working closely with grassroots civil society groups to defend human rights.
Verifiable browser code is on the critical path for a redesigned version of SecureDrop and will benefit the wider browser security ecosystem as a whole.
