Zoom warns of account takeover risk for Windows users

In a recent advisory notice, Zoom warns that a high-severity vulnerability could allow an unauthenticated user to take control of some Windows users’ accounts. According to the videoconferencing company, this vulnerability impacts Zoom Workspace, which you may download on your own computer. This also impacts the Zoom Workspace Virtual Desktop environment — essentially, core tools for hosting Zoom remotely. Read more.

  • As always, download your updates. Today, this story is about modern Windows machines. Tomorrow, a similar story will apply to another operating system or app. The secret is that no matter what, or when, the advice is the same: There are teams in the background whose full-time job is to get you updates, and all you have to do is download them.
