Your 12-month membership is more than just a donation. By opting in to become a member of Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF), you will get to hear directly from the experts who secure newsrooms across the nation. What does becoming a member mean?
FPF’s membership program aims to make your support a two-way street. With your help over the years, we have been hard at work supporting newsrooms and equipping journalists with digital security. Now, we are proud to share that expertise with you in a new calendar of events for members only. Don't miss our exclusive offerings, including:
- Digital Security 101 trainings; using security tools and evergreen best practices;
- Anti-Doxxing seminars; current threat modeling, how to minimize your digital footprint, and self-defense tools;
- Monthly newsletters and updated resources on the state of press freedom and our work;
- Annual keynote address and fireside chats with our board members on how the fight for First and Fourth Amendment rights is more important than ever in this increasingly digital world.

Members will receive a complimentary gift package after signup. Just pick the level that’s right for you and we will send you the following:
- Digital-Only ($5/mo or $60/yr) membership allows you access to FPF's digital calendar of events and entire archive as mentioned above.
- Defender ($10/mo or $120/yr) membership adds a metal membership card, webcam spy blocker stickers, emergency whistle, and an FPF t-shirt.
- Protector ($25/mo or $300/yr) membership includes a sturdy canvas tote bag along with a metal membership card, webcam stickers, emergency whistle, and an FPF t-shirt.
- Advocate ($50/mo or $600/yr) members unlock our FPF sweatshirt (your choice of crewneck or hoodie!) along with a tote bag, metal membership card, webcam stickers, emergency whistle, and an FPF t-shirt.
- Whistleblowers ($100/mo or $1200/yr) receive the entire gift set along with a signed edition of Edward Snowden’s Permanent Record.
