Make a Gift of Stock

You can help us further our efforts to defend press freedom with the gift of stock — and the value of stocks upon sale is usable as a tax-deductible credit.

If you would like to make an electronic transfer of stock, please email our Director of Philanthropy, Louise Balsmeyer at [email protected]

We will need to know the identity and address of the donor, as well as any restrictions to the gift (for example, a gift intended for use within a particular state or program area). If requested, we will honor a donor’s request for anonymity and will use contact information for internal record-keeping only.

Make a Planned Gift

By including a gift to Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF) in your estate plans, you help secure the long-term future of our work, and ensure the preservation and strengthening of the rights guaranteed to the press under the First Amendment.

There are many ways to include a gift in your estate plans, including a simple bequest, making FPF a beneficiary of your retirement or investment account, as well as gifts of real estate, endowments, and many more options. Gifts to FPF also entitle your estate to an unlimited federal estate tax charitable deduction.

For more information and details on the options to make a planned gift that’s right for you, please contact Louise Balsmeyer at [email protected].

Freedom of the Press Foundation does not provide tax or legal advice. We recommend you consult with your legal/financial advisors for more information on how a gift would work in your circumstances.

Make a Memorial or Tribute Gift

You can also make a donation to Freedom of the Press Foundation in honor of a friend, enemy or loved one.

You may honor someone special with a tribute gift or honor their memory with a memorial gift. We will notify your friend or their family of your gift in their honor.

If you have any questions regarding your donation, please email our Director of Development, Louise Balsmeyer at [email protected] with the subject "Memorial/Tribute Gift".
